Bring one of Baltimore's most treasured landmarks into your home with this fine-art reproduction of my original ink-and-watercolor painting of the iconic Patterson Park Observatory, affectionately known for generations as "The Pagoda."
Standing atop historic Hampstead Hill in Baltimore's Patterson Park since 1892, the distinctive Victorian observation tower has become one of the city's most recognizable architectural landmarks. Built to provide panoramic views of Baltimore Harbor and the surrounding city, the Observatory overlooks the same hill where American forces helped defend Baltimore during the War of 1812. Today, the Observatory remains one of Baltimore's most photographed and beloved landmarks, attracting visitors from across Maryland and beyond.
For generations of Baltimoreans, "The Pagoda" has served as both a neighborhood landmark and a symbol of the city's rich history. Whether remembered from childhood walks through Patterson Park, spring festivals beneath its blooming trees, or visits with family and friends, the Observatory continues to evoke a deep sense of Baltimore pride and tradition.
